Bitcoin ETF inflows cool as BTC stays below $80K

US spot Bitcoin ETFs drew $232.1 million on Wednesday, easing from the prior session as Bitcoin slipped back under $80,000 and the funds’ eight-day run reached $2.8 billion.

US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds continued to attract new money on Wednesday, but the pace eased from the previous session. Net inflows totaled $232.1 million, the smallest daily figure since Aug. 18 and about 26% below Tuesday’s $314.4 million, extending an eight-day run of positive flows.

Bitcoin funds extend streak despite slowdown

That stretch has now pulled in about $2.8 billion, helping reduce year-to-date net outflows to roughly $2.03 billion. Cumulative net inflows across the products have climbed to $54.6 billion, while total net assets reached $98.6 billion. The figures point to continued institutional demand even as daily buying cooled from the prior session.

The moderation in ETF demand came after bitcoin briefly moved above $80,000 on Tuesday before losing momentum. At the time of publication, the token traded around $78,759, down 0.3% over 24 hours, leaving it below the closely watched $80,000 threshold. The price action has been uneven even as fund flows remain positive.

XRP funds post a standout day

Elsewhere in crypto exchange-traded products, XRP-linked funds recorded their strongest inflow since Jan. 5. That stands out against a market backdrop where bitcoin ETFs have dominated attention, but it also shows capital is not flowing only into the largest digital asset. The move suggests investors are still selectively adding exposure across the sector.

Broader market tone improved even with bitcoin drifting lower, indicating that sentiment was not driven by price alone. The data also show a split between short-term trading in the coin itself and longer-horizon allocations through regulated funds. For market participants, the key signal is that ETF demand remains supportive, though the daily cadence has become less aggressive.

Recent figures suggest bitcoin’s rally is being met with more cautious buying rather than a full stop in demand. The inflow streak has remained intact, but the latest session shows investors are taking smaller positions than earlier in the week. That leaves the funds with a positive run, while bitcoin itself continues to trade below the level it briefly reclaimed on Tuesday.
