Oracle, Adobe and Casey’s top consensus in mixed week
Five large US companies reported over the past seven days; four posted EPS above consensus, but share moves were mostly lower.
Five large US companies reported in the last seven days, and four posted earnings per share above consensus while one came in at or below. The market response was muted to negative across the group, with shares falling on the day for all five names in the digest.
Oracle and Adobe land above consensus
Oracle reported on Sep 10 with EPS of 1.92 against consensus of 1.74, a difference of +10.4%, while shares fell 5.4% on the day. Adobe also reported on Sep 10, posting EPS of 6.13 versus consensus of 6.08, a +0.9% comparison, and its shares were down 2.4% on the day. The figures are indicative only, given that reported EPS and consensus may not be measured on the same basis.
Sunbelt Rentals and Casey’s also came in above
Sunbelt Rentals Holdings reported on Sep 9 with EPS of 1.18 against consensus of 1.04, or +13.9%, and the shares slipped 0.3% on the day. Casey’s General Stores reported on Sep 8 with EPS of 7.37 versus consensus of 6.78, a +8.7% comparison, while the stock was down 0.2% on the day. As with the rest of the digest, the EPS comparison should be treated as indicative rather than a direct like-for-like verdict.

Taken together, the week’s results showed a cluster of EPS figures above consensus, but the immediate share-price reaction was weaker across the group.
Note: a reported figure and its consensus do not always use the same measure (GAAP or adjusted), so the difference in the table is indicative. Not investment advice.
